Curriculum

Our Curious Kids curriculum is designed to give each “curious kid” the best foundation for kindergarten through age-appropriate fun lessons. The curriculum is aligned over all classes so that each year’s goals build upon previous years; it is divided into six categories to emphasize the rounded nature of our education program:

  • Language & Communication
  • Reading & Writing
  • Numbers & Counting
  • Cognitive
  • Fine Motor Skills
  • Large Motor Skills

Students are assessed against their class goals three times per school year, and parents can see their child’s progress at parent conferences held in January and May.

Our academic program has been founded upon leading researchers’ recommendations and best practices. For example, we teach letter sounds (phonics) in all our classes and starting at age three we introduce word play (phonemic awareness) that provide a basis for our reading program in our pre-k classes.

In order to give the best preparation for entrance to Chandler Unified School District (CUSD) elementary schools, Curious Kids aligns its programs with CUSD. In particular, we follow teaching methods used by Hancock, Basha, Jacobson, Tarwater, and Fulton Ranch elementary schools.

In addition to the core curriculum, Curious Kids has enrichment classes devoted to:

At Curious Kids we believe that good manners are important tools for life and so we teach our students politeness and respect for each other in all our classrooms. Each week the school features a character word that is incorporated into the daily lessons.
